Sewing Room

Sewing machines, scissors, threads and pieces of fabric fill the dense space of a workshop, where several figures carry out successive stages of work. The seamstresses are arranged across different planes, among tables, equipment and piled materials. Horizontal and vertical divisions organise the composition, but numerous details, contours and overlapping forms give it an intense rhythm. Warm browns, oranges and beiges are set against deep green and individual red accents. Fragments of printed paper remain visible in the clothing, machines and background, reinforcing the collage-like character of the surface. The accumulation of tools and materials draws attention to the rhythm of activity in the sewing room.
